L'espace, entre savoirs disciplinaires et compétences transversales

Abstract : The acquisition of relevant markers of space is one of the objectives of the common core of knowledge and skills (2006, Stage 3 – Junior High School/Middle School) towards which several subjects must contribute. It is the link between, on the one hand, construction of methods and disciplinary knowledge and, on the other, the acquisition of a transversal competence that we question from two approaches. Comparative analysis of the requirements of the founding decree of the core framework and the documents for its implementation (2007, 2010, 2011) with regard to the intentions set out in the programmes of the different subjects taught in junior high school. This highlights the design of each of the terms of their structure, but also the differences between them. A prospective procedure is also undertaken. It aims at an operational articulation between the subjects. Particular attention is paid to geography and musical education which contribute in differing but com-plementary ways to the construction of space.
