Effets des approches plurielles sur la maîtrise de l'anglais L2 au collège. L'apport des activités métasyntaxiques

Abstract : This paper examines the effects of pluralistic approaches on L2 proficiency through the implementation of systematic and regular metasyntactic sessions. We hypothesize that making young monolingual learners (aged 12) reflect upon unknown languages (Dutch, Italian and Finnish) through metasyntactic activities will help them develop strategic advantages for the learning of their L2 (English). First, the development of a metasyntactic competence will be explored through the effective mobilization of metasyntactic knowledge, skills and attitudes for each pluralistic session. Then, a comparative analysis of the said sessions should enable the suggestion of the necessary conditions for the transferability of such a competence.
