Quels effets de la LGV Océane pour Bordeaux ?

Abstract : The opening of the Océane high-speed rail (HSR) line on July 2, 2017, was a major milestone for the southwest of France, and more specifically for Bordeaux. It has reduced journey times from Paris by almost an hour, which is significant both symbolically and functionally. In this article, we seek to identify and analyze the socioeconomic consequences and the effects on urban development of the HSR line for this regional capital. With anticipated schemes, ongoing operations and future realizations, Bordeaux and its metropolitan area have experienced a boom in terms of economic and architectural projects, all of which can be considered, to a greater or lesser extent, to be the result of “HSR effects”.
