La poémaïeutique. De la pratique de la poésie oralisée comme didactique empirique

Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to observe what the perspective of an oral diffusion of the texts produces during a creative writing workshop. Then, the poetic speech is given as an address, with a purpose and listeners – as an outstandingly elaborated and efficient form of speech spread in the social space. This rhetorical and pragmatic approach induces a shifting of the point of view about poeticity, in favour of relevance and felicity conditions. On an open stage of slam poetry, poetic achievement is what raises individual talk from its particular aspect to a communicable form, both idiolectal by its elaboration and universal by its range. The writing constraint which the workshop animator gives is a pretext; but besides, each text gives itself its own constraints. That sets the animator in a second position, with the aim of an assisted writing in attendance on the participant’s poetic project. The animator acts both as a Socratic “maieutician” and as a poetician. The upward reading of the first sketch of the text unfolds its “coherescence”. The empirical metalingual reflexivity, which is inherent in the ludo-poetic function of language, is verbalized and shared during the rewriting collective phase. In a second time, the oral diffusion overexposes the author, undeniably; it allows him to make poetry, also, by the easiest means to appropriate spontaneously, insofar as they are not verbal but make use of an embodiment and a purpose.
