Représentations d’attachement chez les enfants, âgés de 3 à 7 ans, exposés aux violences conjugales

Abstract : The aim of this study is to analyze the attachment representations of a clinical sample of 10 children who stay with their mother in an Accommodation and Social Reintegration Centre and who have been exposed to domestic violence. As for methodology, the Attachment Story Completion Task (Bretherton, Ridgeway & Cassidy, 1990) has been adapted in order to explore the internal operational models of these children. An observation grid has been developed to compensate for the absence of a video recording usually recommended. In our sample, the absence of the “secure” attachment representation is highlighted. Our results confirm the interest of this type of clinical evaluation.
