Panser les rituels. Parcours de rituels secrets dans l'espace public

Abstract : From the case of initiation groups of craftsmen in France and with the point of view of a peculiar type of event - the revelation of the secret to non-initiated (and not intended to be) people -, this article examines various reflexivities of actors seeking to treat wounded ritual. After describing the "ordinary" reflexivity of the initiation among journeymen in France, four case studies, which imply an "extraordinary" reflexivity, are presented and analyzed. Finally, despite the great diversity of effects of each of these revelations, a general principle has emerged: that of "initiation fragility" and its role in ensuring the effectiveness of the ritual in a regime of uncertainty and unpredictability of individual behaviors.
