Abstract : In all fields, wireless instrumentation is undergoing a real development. Sensors and radio communications systems are now available with very low power consumption. However, the use of non-rechargeable batteries limits the autonomy of these systems. The capture of ambient energy (light, thermal gradient) with a suitable transducer (photovoltaic panel, thermo-electro-generator) combined with energy storage on supercapacitors and some electronics, offers the required autonomy in many contexts. The presentation will show relevant use cases (aeronautics, industry, environment) in the range 1mW to 10W. It will detail the constitution and operating principle of an autonomous power supply using energy harvesting and storage on supercapacitors. The key points to be resolved to achieve the sizing and the control of such a set will then be presented.
