SUJET PROACTIF ET SUJET ACTIF : DEUX CONCEPTIONS DE LA SOCIALISATION ORGANISATIONNELLE

Abstract : Abstract : In this paper, the authors compare two theoretical approaches of organizational socialization : the proactivity model (Morrison, 1993 ) and the theory of an active and plural socialization (Baubion-broye et Hajjar, 1998). Despite they both critic adaptative models of work entry process, those two points of view defend appreciably different conceptions of subject and activity. Actually, the theory assuming that socialization is active because it is plural and prospective leads to break a double limit. The first limit is related to a positivist definition of activity : the second one is related to an approach of organizational socialization focused on the only occupational sphere of activities. A research among a sample of lecturers and researchers entering their job, illustrates those two differences of point of view. It concerns the debate about the influence of mismatches between expectations and occupational reality on newcomers conducts at work. The results show that mismatches don't have a direct effect on information seeking behaviors developed by newcomers in their work environment. Though, significative relations appear when including in the analysis the importance given by individuals to their personal an social spheres of activities. Those results strengthen the thesis of a plural socialization, operationalized through the model of system of activities.
