QUELLE MOBILITÉ DANS LES TERRITOIRES DE FAIBLE DENSITÉ ? L'EXEMPLE D'OLORON-SAINTE-MARIE

Abstract : The most flexible technical and economic means of transportation are not necessarily retained to meet the needs of low-density areas. In order to demonstrate this, the reopening of Pau - Canfranc - Saragosse rail line after rebuilding Oloron-Sainte-Marie to Bedous rail line proves that the expectations of local people haven’t met the reality. The analysis of the TAD (On-Demand Transport) project and the return of the train in this Pyrenean valley sheds light on two transport schemes that are opposed rather than cooperating with each other to meet the different needs in terms of mobility.
