Le Swich Project : repenser les collections ethnographiques les objets et les mémoires.

Abstract : The Swich Project, for "Sharing a World of Inclusion, Creativity and Heritage", started in November 2014. It brings together eleven European museums as well as a private cultural expertise organisation that subsidises numerous heritage and artistic projects. The project has brought together a dozen European countries and their institutions. The role of museums in this large-scale research project responds to various notions discussed above: the debates that are still alive today on collective memories of colonisation and Western imperialism are crystallised in the ethnographic collections still kept by the former colonial powers.
